The public is invited to give their comments on the Planning and Development Department’s (PDD) Draft Physical Development Plan 2023, which is now available online.
According to the PDD, the Draft Plan, which sets out Government’s vision for development across Barbados, provides a spatial framework to deliver Government’s mandate to build more climate-resistant structures.
The plan was completed in 2017, and a review was necessary due to several circumstances and events that necessitated a review of the current plan to “ensure its currency and applicability to changed circumstances in Barbados”. The Draft Physical Development Plan (Amended 2023) embodies further changes to the draft document that was made available to the public as a 2017 amendment.
Any objection or representation to the plan may be sent in writing to the Director of Planning and Development by e-mail at PDP2023@planning.gov.bb or delivered to the Planning and Development Department, Warrens Office Complex, Warrens, St. Michael, Postal Code BB12001 on or before Friday, September 15. All objections or representations should state the grounds on which they are made, and where the objection or representation relates to a specific area of land, it should identify the land to which it relates.
