Activities to mark Education Month 2022, will continue throughout this week with emphasis on a lunch time concert, a family picnic and an island tour, among other things.

The Ministry of Education, Technological and Vocational Training will host the lunch time concert in Queen’s Park on Thursday, October 27, from noon until 2:00 p.m.  Patrons can expect performances from West Terrace Primary; St. Ambrose Primary; The Ellerslie School; The Lodge School; Windsor High School; St. Leonard’s Boys’; Notes of Praise Inc.; Lester Vaughn School; Combermere and Deighton Griffith Secondary.

The following day, Friday, October 28, will be the Secondary Schools’ Hype (Healthy Youth Through Physical Education) Day, beginning at 9:00 a.m., it will see various schools undertaking fitness activities and games in keeping with the theme for Education Month: Promoting Quality Education Through Healthy Minds and Bodies.

An Ole Time Family Picnic and island tour will be the highlight on Saturday, October 29, when activities conclude for the week. Members of the public are invited to join ministry personnel and parents/guardians as they board the buses at the Elsie Payne Complex, Constitution Road, St. Michael from 9:15 a.m. The buses will depart at 9:15 a.m. For more information on the tour, persons are encouraged to call 535-0853.
