An expo and scavenger hunt will be among the activities being held in celebration of World Meteorological Day, on Saturday, March 23, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The grounds of the Barbados Meteorological Services (MET Office) in the Civil Aviation Building at Charnocks, Christ Church, will be transformed by a number of exhibitions, including those from the Barbados Water Authority, the Caribbean Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology, and the Department of Emergency Management.

Persons are encouraged to come out to the expo and learn more about the agencies involved in the disaster management process in Barbados, and to view some of the equipment used by the MET Office.

They are also urged to sign up for the scavenger hunt, which gets under way from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Participants will embark on a meteorological adventure to unravel the world of weather and climate while on the hunt.

Interested persons may download the “Actionbound” App before registration closes on Wednesday, March 20. A maximum of five persons can sign up per group for the scavenger hunt, which will also be held at Charnocks, Christ Church.

Participants will have the opportunity to win “exciting” prizes. World Meteorological Day is being held under the theme: On the frontline of climate action.
