Community Carnival Motorcade

The St. Michael Central Constituency Council will hold a motorcade on Saturday, October 25, as part of the promotion for its Strengths of the Community Carnival, being held in November.

The motorcade will start at the Andrew Alleyne Pavilion, Waterford, St. Michael, at 11:00 a.m., and will pass through several districts within the constituency, including Savannah Road, Waterford, Park Road, Eagle Hall, Kew Road, Powder Road, Bank Hall and Station Hill.

The motorcade will then return to the pavilion for a press launch at 4:00 p.m., where Minister of Social Care, Constituency Empowerment and Community Development, Steven Blackett, and members of the Community Carnival Planning Committee will answer questions about this upcoming event, which is to be held on Saturday, November 29.

St. James To Host ???An Ole Time Affair???

The members of the St. James Parish Independence Committee will host ???An Ole Time Affair??? on Saturday, October 25, in the Fitts Village Esplanade, St. James, from 8:30 to 11:00 a.m.

The main objectives of the interactive event are to encourage the preservation of local skills and knowledge for future generations, as well as a greater appreciation for the elderly; and to create an enhanced community spirit.

Members of the public will be treated with skills demonstrations, including kite making. There will also be blood pressure checks and presentations by various social/welfare agencies who provide assistance to the elderly, the disabled elderly and their caregivers.
