The grounds of the Garrison Secondary School will be a hive of activity this Saturday, November 20, when the St. Michael South Constituency Council hosts its health fair.
From 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., persons can view displays from various health organisations, obtain information on correct eating habits and how to lose weight, learn how to manage stress, get their blood pressure and sugar checked, and even brush up on their parenting skills.
Representatives will be on hand from the Barbados Cancer Society, the National Committee for the Prevention of Alcoholism and Drug Dependency and the Diabetes Association.
Following this, there will be a games session until 5:00 p.m., and the public is invited to join in a round of dominoes, road tennis or scrabble. Persons may also bring their own games.
At 5:00 p.m., the National Task Force on Physical Activity and Exercise will conduct an exercise routine, which culminates the day’s activities.
The Council is urging the public to join its members in this initiative, as it strives to make the community healthy.??sharifa.medford@barbados.gov.bb
