Twenty Sixth Form students along with five teachers from Harrison College (HC) will be participating in a Student Exchange with Campion College, Jamaica from tomorrow, Tuesday, October 25 to November 1.

According to Sixth Form Year Head, Carl Applewhaite, the aim of the exchange programme is to enhance learning and teaching methodologies with the aim of improving overall student achievement.

Mr. Applewhaite, who will be accompanying the students, added: “Cognisant of the Prime Minister’s desire to develop more active citizens, the exchange seeks to impact four main areas of student development: academic advances, inter-cultural sensitivities, personal goals and professional benefits.

“In addition, the identification of a regional territory provides an opportunity for students’ sensibilities to be widened, as they are exposed to regional issues which they may have to confront in the future. It is intended that the students will become more flexible, creative and innovative as a result of this initiative.”

The students from Campion College, Jamaica, are expected to visit HC in early January 2023.
