Barbados’ High Commissioner to the United Kingdom (UK), Milton Inniss, met with the Secretary-General, International Maritime Organisation (IMO), Kitack Lim, to formally deposit a number of Instruments of Accession on behalf of the Government of Barbados.

The instruments were deposited during a courtesy call, which took place on Wednesday, March 8, at the IMOs Albert Embankment Headquarters in London, UK.

During the meeting High Commissioner Inniss and Secretary-General Lim discussed a wide range of topics, including Barbados’ Blue Economy, the tourism sector, and its very stable political climate.

Of notable mention was Mr. Lim’s interest in the Sargassum seaweed problem in Barbados and the rest of the Caribbean. The outgoing official also praised the Government of Barbados for its steadfast leadership and commended all involved for what he called a ‘record high-level’ of Instruments for deposit.
