Trainee and internship opportunities are available in the United States of America (USA) Hospitality Sector in the areas of Culinary, Food and Beverage, Front Office and Housekeeping.
Interested persons should submit their résumés to the Barbados Employment and Career Counselling Service (BECCS), by sending an email to beccsjobs@labour.gov.bb before Friday, September 24. They should place the job title for the post in the subject area of the email.
Applicants to this J1 Visa Programme must be between ages 18 and 35, and are required to be either recent graduates from hospitality training programmes, or persons with at least five years’ experience in the hospitality sector.
They should also possess a valid Barbados passport and the ability to obtain a clean Police Certificate of Character. Persons must also be free of any infractions outside of Barbados.
Successful applicants will have the opportunity to build their proficiency in the sector by working in a structured work-based internship programme for one year in the USA.
They will also be required to cover costs of approximately US$4,000 to facilitate insurance, processing fees, visa applications and airfare.
