As the Barbados Drug Service (BDS) begins to roll out its new Pharmacy Management System from September 30 to October 28, pharmacies operating under the aegis of the BDS, and the Psychiatric Hospital Pharmacy will have scheduled closures.
Pharmacies will be closed on the working day before the scheduled implementation and re-opening. The closure and implementation dates are as follows:
LOCATION | DATE OF CLOSURE | IMPLEMENTATION/RE-OPENING DATE |
Frederick “Freddie” Miller Polyclinic Pharmacy | September 27 | September 30 |
Edgar Cochrane Polyclinic Pharmacy | October 4 | October 7 |
Eunice Gibson Polyclinic Pharmacy | October 11 | October 14 |
Psychiatric Hospital Pharmacy | October 25 | October 28 |
Following the implementation of the system, persons are likely to experience a temporary increase in wait times for pharmaceutical services for approximately four weeks.
The new system is expected to result in an improvement in patient records management, treatment, and pharmaceutical health care and safety.
Management of the Drug Service regrets any inconvenience which may be caused, and encourages members of the public to arrange their business accordingly.
