The National Sports Council and the Barbados Cricket Association will launch their 2022 Groundsmen Training Programme at the National Sports Council, Blenheim, My Lord’s Hill, St. Michael, on Monday, June 13, at 9:30 a.m. 

Minister of Youth, Sports and Community Empowerment, Charles Griffith, will give brief remarks, while President of the Barbados Cricket Association, Conde Riley will deliver the feature address. Assistant Director of Sports (Ag), National Sports Council, Adrian Donovan, and Head Instructor, Nigel Newton, will deliver remarks.  

Fifty-two males and females will participate in the intensive five-week certificated programme on Mondays and Tuesdays at the Blenheim, St. Michael site.

It is intended that at the end of the programme, there will be a noticeable improvement in the availability of trained persons and servicing of the grounds across Barbados. The programme is schedule to end on Tuesday, July 12, 2022.
