As part of the activities to mark Hurricane Awareness Month 2023, the Department of Emergency Management is currently hosting a series of library displays until June 30.

These displays will be at the public libraries in Bridgetown, St. Michael, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Mondays to Saturdays; at the Eric Holder Municipal Complex, Tamarind Hall, Blackman’s, St. Joseph and Speightstown, St. Peter, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., and again from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m., Mondays to Fridays.

Members of the public are invited to view these displays which include books on hurricanes, brochures, and hurricane supplies, to learn more about the hurricane hazard and how they can prepare.

Hurricane awareness month is celebrated annually during the month of June, to create a greater awareness about the hazard. This year it is being celebrated under the theme: Be Storm Ready.
