The Tamarind Hall branch of the National Library Service in St. Joseph. (National Library Service)

The National Library Service (NLS) will stage a walk-through of districts in St. Joseph to bring awareness of the various services offered at the Tamarind Hall Branch Library located in the Eric Holder Jr. Municipal Complex. The event takes place on Saturday, January 27, from 9:30 a.m. to noon.

During the two-and-a-half-hour affair, NLS officers will speak to residents living in Andrews Tenantry, Blackmans, and Horse Hill about the importance of joining the branch and re-acquainting themselves with the joy of reading.

Acting Deputy Director of the NLS, Beverley Archer, said the effort is part of the library’s renewed community engagement campaign to reach the public.

Ms. Archer added: “The National Library Service has seven branch libraries located in the parishes of St. Peter, St. James, St. John. St. Joseph, St. Philip, St. George, and St. Michael. In addition, there is the Headquarters Main Library and a Mobile Unit that operates at the primary schools. This effort is to highlight the locations and to encourage persons to utilise the services available.”
