Minister of Tourism and International Transport, Richard Sealy, was simply "bowled over with the executive look and feel" of the Radisson Aquatica Resort.
The Minister received an update on the hotel’s performance and bookings under the Barbados Island Inclusive Programme last Friday, during a tour of the beachfront property located at Aquatic Gap, St. Michael.
He said: "I am impressed with the refurbishment to the property that was carried out.?? The rooms are lovely and we [government] are happy to have the Radisson brand in Barbados."
Sales and Marketing Manager, Tammy-Ann Worrell, confirmed that there was an overwhelming response from travellers out of the North American market who have been booking five-night stays through Expedia.?? These travellers also received vouchers through the Barbados Island Exclusive Programme.
Likewise, General Manager of the property, Christopher Forbes, reported that the Brazilians were also taking advantage of the Programme and added: "The Brazilians absolutely love the programme which they described as a good deal for travellers. The Brazilians have been to Cave Shepherd and Swan Street shopping…They cleaned up at Cave Shepherd, Michael Kors and Armani Exchange in Limegrove and they cannot believe how much cheaper the prices are than in Sao Paulo."
The newly refurbished resort has 124 rooms and employs 84 people.
