The disabled community in Barbados is inviting the public to join them at a church service to mark the start of the Month of the Disabled on Sunday, March 1.
The ecumenical service, organized by the Barbados Council for the Disabled, in collaboration with the National Disabilities Unit, takes place at the Berean Bible Church, Hothersal Turning, St. Michael. It begins at 4:00 p.m. and congregants are asked to be seated by 3:45 p.m.
Bus transportation to and from the church will leave the Princess Alice and Fairchild Street Bus Terminals at 3:15 p.m. and return at 6:30 p.m.
Persons with mobility challenges who wish to attend the service are asked to call the Barbados Council for the Disabled at 629-0574.
Groups expected to be represented at the service include the Albert Cecil Graham Development Centre, the Autism Association of Barbados, the Barbados Association for the Blind and Deaf, BARNOD Inc., the MS Society of Barbados Inc., the Myasthenia Gravis Association of Barbados and Special Olympics.
