The suspense will soon end when, later this month, the final contestants in the National Council for Science and Technology’s (NCST) National Innovation Competition, present their concepts for judging.

Acting Director of the NCST, Charles Cyrus, explained that in this ultimate stage, "the five finalists will be assigned to consultants to develop a business plan [for their proposals].?? We will have the final assessment with the panel of judges. The consultant will have about a month to work with them. By March, they should be ready to present," he revealed.?? ????

Mr. Cyrus also stated that "the final positions will be determined based on the business plan and oral presentation to the panel of judges. Projects in need of further financial and technical assistance may seek to access the services of business development agencies such as the Enterprise Growth Fund Limited, the Barbados Industrial Development Corporation or Fund Access". He added that these agencies were there to facilitate business development.

The National Innovation Competition began in 2003 to serve as a catalyst for encouraging innovation among Barbadians.
