Barbadians now have easier access to nutrition resources with the recent launch of the National Nutrition Centre’s new website.

Persons may access the site by visiting https://nutritioncentre.health.gov.bb/. It features a growing collection of resource materials such as the Food-based Dietary Guidelines for Barbados, the Healthy Eating Guide for Barbados, and the Barbados School Nutrition Policy. Services offered by the department, which include nutrition counselling and education, are also posted on the website.

Persons interested in obtaining nutrition counselling should contact their nearest polyclinic to make arrangements for accessing the services of the nutrition professionals assigned to the respective clinics.

Additionally, schools, community groups and other organisations interested in obtaining professional services for public health initiatives such as health fairs, health seminars and lectures, may submit a formal request to the National Nutrition Centre by emailing nutrition.centre@barbados.gov.bb.

Members of the public may also contact the Centre at 536-3852.
