May 5 is the start of the National Senior Games 2024 and Barbadians are being invited to register to participate in the events.

The 2024 Games will comprise 19 disciplines. These will take place at various venues around the country with the finals slated for the Usain Bolt Complex, on May 18,19, and 20.

Persons interested in participating may register at the National Sports Council, the Child Care Board, the Welfare Department, the National Assistance Board and the National Disabilities Unit.

Registration may also be done at the various post offices across the island. The National Senior Games calendar can be found on line at https://bnsg.org/calendar/.

For further information, prospective athletes and members of the public may call 256-4263 (256-Game). They may also follow the Ministry of People Empowerment and Elder Affairs on social media.

Three persons will be honoured this year at the start of the Games on May 5, in the same vein that Victor Young; Hamilton Lashley, and Kathy Harper-Hall were recognised in 2023.
