A new support hotline has been established to assist persons who may be experiencing emotional challenges.

Officially called Lifeline Barbados, this new service can be accessed by the public from February 1, 2024, by dialing the short code #988.

Those seeking help may call #988 daily between 2:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m., including public holidays.

The hotline will provide information, emotional support, and crisis intervention services to persons who may be struggling emotionally, as well as their friends and families, and any member of the public seeking information on mental health and wellbeing. However, callers will not be provided with treatment via the hotline.
