The grounds of the National Housing Corporation (NHC) at Country Road, St. Michael, were, on Saturday evening transformed into an amphitheatre, as staff members celebrated 36 years of sterling service.

In her brief welcome address, Acting General Manager of the NHC, Lanette Napoleon-Young, praised employees for their dedication and urged them to continue to perform in their various areas of expertise to meet the housing needs of the population.

The concert saw staffers rendering original songs and poetry, line dancing and modelling.?? Awards were also presented to the cricket teams who competed on May 22nd in the male versus female 20/20 tape ball cricket matches, played at the Dover Playing Field.?? The male office team emerged victorious.

Entertainment also included the NHC Chorale, an HIV skit performed by Jennifer Walker and Angela Weithers of Double Laugh Theatre Productions and performances by Tanya Clarke and Calypsonian, Flexi.?? The night culminated with a musical rendition by the reggae band, Michael and Friends, with Minister of Housing and Lands, Michael Lashley featured on bass guitar.

The NHC came into being on April 1st, 1973 and is mandated to provide affordable and quality housing and land to all Barbadians.
