Senior Medical Officer in the Ministry of Health and Wellness, Dr. Anton Best, does not see the need at this time for testing for plasma to determine if a person has the necessary antibodies to fight off the coronavirus.
He made that clear today while addressing a televised COVID-19 update and press conference at Ilaro Court.
Dr. Best said “to the best of our knowledge”, there was no need to do such testing and explained that if a person had COVID in the past, there is a protocol which states that they can receive the vaccine in approximately one month after the infection.
“So, there’s no need to do any testing to see if you have antibodies to indicate whether you have current infection or whether you’ve had past infection,” he underlined.
