Barbados is currently being impacted by volcanic ash because of the ongoing unpredictable eruptions of La Soufrière in St. Vincent. The ash can have a negative impact on the central air system of the Supreme Court Complex. It is therefore important to monitor the impact of the ash on the ventilation system as well as to maintain a clean, properly functioning ventilation and air conditioning system for all the occupants of the building.
As a result, it is recommended that the Supreme Court Complex be closed for at least three days. During this time, the technicians and the scientists will be working together to ensure that the ventilation and air-conditioning systems are analysed to determine the impact of the ash particles on the system and recommend what actions are required to clean it.
The indoor air will also be monitored to ensure that respirable particles of ash will not negatively impact the health of the occupants of the Supreme Court Complex.
Additionally, you will be informed of any necessary changes to protocols on entering the building.
Our aim is to maintain a safe and healthy environment for all the occupants and visitors to the Supreme Court Complex while maintaining the functionality and integrity of the ventilation and air-conditioning systems.
