Former Member of Parliament, President of the National Organisation of Women and Barbados’ representative on key international bodies, including the Inter-American Commission of Women, Dame Maizie Barker-Welch, DBE, CHB, BCH, LLD (Hon), will be accorded an Official Funeral on Friday, September 13, 2024.
The service of thanksgiving for her life will take place at the Abundant Life Assembly, Bank Hall, St. Michael, starting at 1:00 p.m. Tributes will begin from 12:15 p.m.
The service will be followed by the burial at Clifton Hill Moravian Church, St. Thomas.
Viewing of the body will take place at the Colin Parkinson Memorial Chapel of Lyndhurst Funeral Home, Passage Road, St. Michael, on Thursday, September 12, from 1:00 to 6:00 p.m.
Condolence books will be available for signing at Lyndhurst Funeral Home and on the day of the service.
Dame Maizie passed away on Wednesday, August 28, at the age of 96.
