The official service of thanksgiving for the life of former Attorney-General of Barbados and eminent jurist, Sir Frederick Gladstone Smith, takes place on Friday, August 5, at the James Street Methodist Church, Bridgetown.
The service, which will be officiated by Bishop of the South Caribbean District of the Methodist Church, Rev. Dr. Cuthbert Edwards, and Methodist Minister, Rev. Colton Bennett, begins at 10:00 a.m. It will be followed by a private interment.
Sir Frederick was a founder member of the Democratic Labour Party (DLP), and a condolence book will be opened to the public at DLP headquarters, George Street, St. Michael, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 4.
A condolence book will also be placed at the church on the morning of the funeral service. Sir Frederick died on July 11 at age 92.
