The deepening of ties between Poland and Barbados was discussed today when Chargé d’affaires ad interim, Daniel Gromann, who is resident in Caracas, Venezuela, paid a courtesy call to Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Kerrie Symmonds.

The meeting, which took place at the Ministry’s Culloden Road, St. Michael location, saw the two officials identify areas for possible cooperation. This included providing training in core competencies for shipbuilding, university exchanges, investment opportunities, pharmaceuticals, and tourism. They also discussed Mr. Gromann being accredited to Barbados and the Bridgetown Initiative 3.0.

Both officials agreed that there was a need for greater awareness of what each country had to offer in order to build partnerships.

Present at the courtesy call were Permanent Secretary, Joy-Ann Skinner; Foreign Service Officer II, Shireifa Joseph; and Honorary Consul for Poland in Barbados, Michael Armstrong.

Barbados established diplomatic relations with Poland on December 13, 1996.
