The Ministry of Education, Technological and Vocational Training, in collaboration with the Caribbean Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) and Starcom Network Inc., will launch “Pontifications and Poetry 2023“, an oratorical contest, to celebrate Education Month and CBC’s 60th Anniversary.
Under the theme for Education Month – A Bright Future for Every Child – the competition will be launched tomorrow, Wednesday, October 4, in the Media Resource Department Auditorium, at the Elsie Payne Complex, Constitution Road, St. Michael, at 9:30 a.m.
Open to all primary and secondary schools, it seeks to hone and/or enhance the public speaking skills of Barbadian youth as independent learners; sensitise them to the current issues within this nation and the Caribbean; afford them the opportunity to be a voice for the youth; and help them embrace the Ministry of Education’s thrust towards sustainable education and global citizenship.
