Members of the public will have an opportunity to learn more about workplace safety and health regulations at a series of seminars being hosted by the Ministry of Labour, Social Security and Third Sector, in collaboration with the National Advisory Committee on Occupational Safety and Health.

The free sessions, which will be held at the Accra Beach Hotel and Spa, have been organised as part of activities to observe Occupational Safety and Health Week, from June 25 to 30.

The theme for this year is: Safety and Health – A Fundamental Principle and Right at Work. Topics to be covered at the seminars include: Safety and Health at Work Regulations; Industrial Hygiene; the National Workplace Wellness Policy; Safe Work at Heights and Depths, and Practical Tips for Safety Committees.

Interested persons are required to pre-register for these sessions by filling out the online form available by clicking here or calling 535-1523/24.  The deadline for registration is Monday, June 19.

Workplaces are also encouraged to organise and notify the Labour Department of their own safety and health awareness events during this week.
