Attorney General Dale Marshall is encouraging members of the public to continue to support the island’s crime-fighting efforts.

Mr. Marshall made the comments today on the sidelines of the CARICOM IMPACS/INTERPOL’s Eighth High-Level Meeting of the Dialogue on an Effective Multilateral Policing Architecture Against Global Threats, at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre.

When asked by the media for a comment regarding the ‘lull’ in the recent gun violence, the Attorney General stated: “I’m satisfied with the efforts that are being put in by the members of The [Barbados] Police Service, supported by the Barbados Defence Force.

“There’s a lot still to be done. But my experience tells me that … sometimes there’s quiet, sometimes you get spikes…. I’m pleased with the work that has been done and I’m satisfied that there’s a level of tranquility in Barbados at this point in time. I hope it lasts forever….

“We will continue to keep the pressure on and continue to support the police service and I want the country as a whole to continue to support the crime-fighting effort.”
