Members of the public can now register for the Digicel/Barbados Defence Force’s (BDF) Charity Walk and Run on Saturday, July 14, at Sky Mall, Haggatt Hall, St. Michael.
Volunteers from Precious Touch Foundation Inc. and representatives from the BDF’s Morale Welfare Recreation Committee will be at Sky Mall between 11:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. to register persons for the walk and run. In addition, those present will promote the work of the charity and its programmes, as well as share information on the Digicel & BDF Charity Walk and Run.
The Digicel/BDF Have A Heart Charity Walk and Run will be held on Saturday, August 11, starting at the HMBS Pelican, (home of the Barbados Coast Guard), Spring Garden, at 6:00 a.m., and climaxing at the BDF, St. Ann’s Fort, where there will be a Health and Corporate Fair until 1:00 p.m.
The BDF is seeking to raise $25,000 from the charity walk/run and boot camp series, which will be donated to Precious Touch Foundation Inc., an organisation which assists children who have been diagnosed with a life-threatening medical condition or are terminally ill, realise their wish. In 2016, the BDF raised $10,000 for the Precious Touch Foundation Inc. and in 2017, the amount increased to $13,764.10.
