Residents of St. Lucy and nearby districts are encouraged to attend the “Invest In Renewable Energy Community Meeting” on Sunday, October 9, at the Checker Hall Salvation Army, beginning at 5:00 p.m.

Householders will hear about Government’s Smart Energy Programme; how they can reduce their electricity bill; earn additional income, and benefit from renewable energy. 

There will be presentations on: Why smart energy is important to the householder; Government’s policy on smart energy; the technical aspects of how the householder can have renewable energy systems installed; the power purchase agreement, and community energy parks.  Householders will also learn about the various financing options available.

The other community meetings to be held this month are as follows:

  • Wednesday, October 12 – Queen’s College, Husbands, St. James, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. 
  • Sunday, October 16 – Deighton Griffith Secondary School, Kingsland Main Road, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.
  • Wednesday, October 19 – The Valley Resource Centre, St. George, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
  • Monday, October 24 – Princess Margaret Secondary School, Six Cross Roads, St. Philip, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
  • Wednesday, October 26 – Abundant Life Assembly, Lower Bank Hall Main Road, St. Michael, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

These meetings are being hosted by the Ministry of Energy and Business.
