The Ministry of Transport, Works and Water Resources advises that as part of the ongoing road works associated with the Highway 1 Rehabilitation Project, the area from the Usain Bolt Complex to Waves Hotel, Prospect, St. James, will be closed to general traffic from 6.30 p.m. to midnight tonight, Monday, May 3, and tomorrow, Tuesday, May 4, to facilitate the paving of the road.
Only one-way traffic will be permitted, in a northerly direction. ONLY emergency vehicles and appointed public service vehicles will be allowed to travel along that section of the highway. Residents living on the main road and in the adjoining roads/gaps will also be allowed entry.
The Transport Board will provide a shuttle service from 6.30 p.m. to midnight.
The general public is kindly asked to use alternative routes and to follow the instructions of the traffic wardens deployed in the specific areas.
