Government has issued a reminder to elderly persons and others that they should avoid giving their National Identification cards, their National Registration numbers, or their prescriptions needing to be filled, to anyone they do not know.
Furthermore, it should be noted that Government has not authorized anyone to collect and fill prescriptions on behalf of elderly or vulnerable persons.
Persons are urged to safeguard their National Identification cards, and only accept assistance with filling prescriptions, if they are unable to complete this task, from trusted relatives or friends.
Under the current Emergency Management arrangements, pharmacies are among the essential services, and will therefore be open.
Government-owned pharmacies will be opened from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., except for the Winston Scott Polyclinic Pharmacy, which will open from 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
