Promoters and other persons staging events during Crop Over are reminded that all security agencies, private investigators and security guards, whose services they may be engaging, must be licensed.

According to Section 14 (1) and (2) of the Private Investigators and Security Guards Act CAP 372 (E), no person may provide services as a private investigator or security guard, or operate an agency engaged in the business, or provide the services of private investigators or security guards, unless he is licensed under this Act.

The legislation further states that anyone who contravenes this Act is guilty of an offence and liable on conviction to a fine of $5,000, or imprisonment of two years, or both.
