Road rehabilitation work in Wakefield, St. John. (Ministry of Transport and Works)

The Bath Depot of the Ministry of Transport and Works (MTW) is conducting road rehabilitation work in Wakefield, St. John, which will include excavation and road realignment. Therefore, workmen will be required to operate within the roadway, which will be reduced to single-lane traffic.

As a result, the northbound lane from Four Roads to Wakefield Plantation is now closed. Local access will be allowed up to Kings Village and the agricultural lots in the area.

To access Wakefield Plantation, motorists will need to use Tappy Pond Road and Natty Browne Hill.  Southbound traffic from Mount Tabor/Sherbourne may continue to proceed along Wakefield at a reduced speed with caution towards Four Roads. Signage will be erected to alert and guide motorists.

MTW apologises for any inconvenience caused and thanks members of the public for their cooperation.
