After a hiatus created by the COVID-19 pandemic, the Barbados Community College’s (BCC) Sports Day is back.

The first since 2019, it comes off tomorrow, Thursday, April 6, at “Eyrie”, Howell’s Cross Road, St. Michael, at noon.

With the Sports Day coinciding with the International Day of Sport for Development and Peace, the BCC and the Barbados Olympic Association have partnered to host the #WHITECARD campaign during tomorrow’s activities.

In addition to the athletic events, there will be the symbolic raising of white cards, where BCC’s Principal, Annette Alleyne, will join the Director of the National Olympic Academy, Vaneisha Cadogan, and 50 BCC students on the playing field, to signal the two organisations’ support for peace in sport.

Ms. Alleyne and Ms. Cadogan will deliver brief remarks at 1:30 p.m., directly after which the 200-metre race will run off.
