The Thorne Commission on Local Governance will hold its final town hall meeting on Sunday, October 4, at the Queen’s Park Steel Shed, Bridgetown.
The Commission, set up to oversee the process of establishing community-based people’s assemblies in Barbados, has been garnering public opinion on the issue since November last year. Meetings have been held island-wide.
This final meeting, under the chairmanship of MP and attorney-at-law Ralph Thorne, will run from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.
Interested persons who are unable to attend are invited to join via Zoom. They may register by emailing Thorne.Commission@barbados.gov.bb and providing their full name and email address. The joining link will be forwarded to their email address prior to the start of the meeting.
The public is also invited to submit written questions and/or submissions to the Commission via email. The work of the Commission falls under the purview of the Ministry of People Empowerment and Elder Affairs.
