The Advisory Committee to Guide the Establishment of a Commission for Improving the Lives of Persons with Disabilities will be hosting a series of town hall meetings in September.

The aim of these meetings is to give the public an opportunity to make input into the development of the National Policy on Disabilities and a Disabilities Bill to improve the lives of Persons with Disabilities.

The first meeting will be convened on Thursday, September 15, at the Barbados Workers’ Union, Solidarity House Auditorium, Hindsbury Road, St. Michael. The second will be on Wednesday, September 21, at the Ivan Harewood Centre, Christ Church Parish Church, Church Hill, Christ Church.

The final town hall meeting will take place on Thursday, September 29, at the Alexandra School, Queen’s Street, St. Peter.

All meetings, which will be in person and virtual, will run from 6:30 to 9:00 p.m. Members of the public are invited to attend.

The public is also reminded that they can submit their policy and legislative recommendations on how to improve the lives of Persons with Disabilities to the email address inclusion@barbados.gov.bb.

The deadline for these submissions is Friday, September 30.
