The town hall meetings to discuss the proposed establishment of community-based People’s Assemblies resume on Wednesday, January 22, at the Alexandra School, Queen’s Street, Speightstown, St. Peter.
The assemblies are people-participatory structures of governance based on the principle of patriotic, selfless, non-partisan service to country. The aim is to provide residents with a platform to have a greater say in national affairs.
Another meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, January 29, at the Valley Resource Centre, The Glebe, St. George.
The meetings, which are being hosted by the Thorne Commission on Local Governance chaired by MP and attorney-at-law Ralph Thorne, will run from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.
