Motorists travelling along Highway 1 between Holetown and Porters Great House will be temporarily diverted, from Monday, August 26.

The traffic diversions are to facilitate the installation of flood alleviation structures (culverts, trenches, grass swales), as part of the Adaptation Measures to Counter the Effects of Climate Change (AMCECC) Project.

The diversions will occur between Porters Great House on Highway 1 and Trents Playing Field on Highway C. Porters Road will be closed. All southbound traffic will be diverted in a one-way direction via Trents Tenantry Road, while northbound traffic will need to divert at Highway C, and use the Ronald Mapp Highway, returning to Porters Road.

Local access will be provided for residents, businesses and government offices from the south only.

The public is advised to adhere to all temporary traffic signage and instructions from contractor personnel who will be in place during the day to assist with traffic management. For updates on the project, persons may visit www.climatechangebarbados.com.
