Brochures in braille on tsunami safety rules will be received for persons in Barbados who are visually impaired, tomorrow, Thursday, September 19, at the Coastal Zone Management Unit (CZMU), Warrens Tower II, Warrens, St. Michael.

Director of the CZMU, Dr. Leo Brewster and Director of the Department of Emergency Management (DEM), Kerry Hinds, will present the brochures to Disability Rights Consultant, Kerryann Ifill.

The brochures, which were made available by the UNESCO-Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission (IOC) Tsunami Ready Recognition Programme (TRRP), were produced in an effort to provide inclusive tsunami safety resources.

The UNESCO-IOC TRRP is an international community-based effort to bolster risk prevention and mitigation across global coastal zones, through awareness and preparedness strategies, for the protection of life, livelihood and property, from tsunamis.
