The Postmaster General is advising householders that their mail delivery can be suspended as a result of an unrestrained dog on the premises.
Persons are advised that Section 4(5) of the Post Office (Delivery) Regulations, 2019, states that an officer shall not deliver mail to any delivery point where it may expose the officer to personal risk or endanger another person.
Customers are therefore urged to practise responsible pet ownership at all times to avoid unnecessary injuries to postmen.
