The parish of St. John will be the venue for the next wellness hike being held by the National Task Force on Wellness on Saturday, September 23. It will start promptly from the Bath Beach car park at 6:00 a.m.

The National Assistance Board will be celebrating Senior Citizens Month and staff will participate in the hike as part of their activities. For this collaboration, hikers may wear the colors green, yellow, or white.

The hike will leave Bath Beach, move on to Bath Springs and proceed towards the old Earth Station.  It will pass Three Crosses in Pot House and Martin’s Bay, and go towards the old train line, then back to Bath Beach.

The terrain will include some flat roads as well as some hilly areas. Persons who are not sure of their level of physical fitness should consult with their medical doctor before participating. Hikers are advised to bring sufficient drinking water and healthy snacks to stay hydrated and energised.

Persons should also wear suitable clothing to protect their skin when going through bushy areas. Appropriate enclosed shoes, that prevent sliding, are also necessary.
