Women across Barbados are expected to be pampered on Wednesday, March 8, as part of the International Women’s Day celebrations.  The theme for the day is: DigitALL: Innovation And Technology For Gender Equality.

The Bureau of Gender Affairs, under the Ministry of People Empowerment and Elder Affairs, is hosting a health and beauty fair at the Warrens Office Complex, Warrens, St. Michael, for all women, beginning at 10:00 a.m.

On that day, women will be treated to free manicures, pedicures, facials, neck and body massages and health checks.  In addition, the Bureau will engage the services of the Diabetes Association and the Hypertension Association of Barbados to provide checks.

The Bureau will also participate in an ICT presentation to students at the Springer Memorial School, Government Hill, St. Michael, as they celebrate International Women’s Day under the theme Using ICT to Empower Women and Girls.

The presentation will be delivered by ICT Teacher, Valarie Young, at 1:00 p.m. at the school. During this event, the Bureau of Gender Affairs will also present 60 custom-designed shirts to the school to observe International Women’s Day.
