The proposed amendment to the Physical Development Plan will come under the microscope on World Town Planning Day tomorrow, Wednesday, November 8, during a half-day seminar for students pursuing studies in Environmental Science and or Geography.
The presentation will focus on strategic policies relating to sustainable development, greening the economy, Natural Heritage, mobility and accessibility, land use and built form policies. Presenters will be Deputy Chief Town Planner, George Browne, and Director of the Natural Heritage Department, Steve Devonish.
Organised by the Town and Country Development Planning Office, the seminar will be held at the National Union of Public Workers’ Auditorium, Dalkeith, St. Michael, beginning at 9:00 a.m.
World Town Planning Day is currently celebrated on November 8 in 30 countries across four continents. It has been observed since 1949 as a way of promoting a better understanding and awareness of city planners and the importance of planning.
