(Vision 2020: We Gatherin’)

Residents of St. Thomas have been invited to a town hall meeting on Sunday, June 30, at the Lester Vaughan School, to discuss Vision 2020: We Gatherin’ and how the community can participate.

The meeting, which will begin at 6:30 p.m., is being hosted by the Vision 2020: Project Implementation Unit (PIU), Office of the Prime Minister, in association with the St. Thomas Parish Organizing Committee for Vision 2020: We Gatherin’.

The residents are encouraged to share their ideas and vision as the PIU seeks to identify projects and activities to be undertaken for We Gatherin’, which is the flagship project of Vision 2020.

It is a year-long programme that will encourage Barbadians, at home and abroad, to invest, contribute and participate in Barbados’ development.

Its objectives include rebuilding the community spirit and celebrating the traditional Barbadian way of life, as well as providing an opportunity to showcase the uniqueness, talent and skills of Barbadians.

The 52-week festival will begin in St. Lucy next January and travel to every parish during the year, culminating in a national celebration in December 2020.
