A mini exhibition designed to showcase local goods and services in this Year of Productivity will be the featured event during the launch of this year’s May Day activities.

The exhibition which is scheduled for 9.30 a.m. at Solidarity House, Harmony Hall, St. Michael on Wednesday, April 26 will feature a careers showcase and a plant clinic sponsored by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food, Fisheries and Water Resource Management.

Members of the public are invited to participate in the plant clinic and come ‘armed’ with their questions and also to bring along leaves, plants or plant parts for diagnosis.  Persons are reminded that items should be placed in plastic bags when they are being transported.

The Ministry of Agriculture will also take part in an outreach programme on National Heroes Day, Friday, April 28, when former union members who are residents of the various district hospitals will be visited.

The May Day activities will culminate with a Thanksgiving Service to be held at Solidarity House on Sunday, April 30 beginning at 4:30 p.m. and the May Day Parade on Monday, May 1.

The public is invited to participate in these events.
