This year’s Independence Ceremonial Parade and March will take place on Thursday, November 30, at the Usain Bolt Sports Complex, University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus, Black Rock, St. Michael.

Following the official ceremony starting at 8:00 a.m., the parade will proceed along Black Rock Main Road onto Carlton, St Michael.

As a result, Prospect Road at its junction with Crusher Site Road, Walmer Lodge, Black Rock Main Road at its junction with Brighton Road and Yearwood Road, Brighton Road and Hallets Road will be temporarily closed to all vehicular traffic while the parade is enroute.

In addition, Crusher Site Road to Holetown and beyond Eagle Hall to its junction with Brighton Road/Yearwood Road, University Drive, Frank Worrell Roundabout, Mighty Grynner Highway and Frank Worrell Roundabout will remain two-way except, when the parade is enroute.

Motorists are advised that no driver or person in charge of a vehicle will be allowed to park or allow their vehicle to remain stationary on any of the following roads or the adjoining footpaths except to pick up or set down passengers:

  1. Walmer Lodge
  2. Frank Worrell Roundabout
  3. Black Rock Main Road to Brighton and Yearwood Road junction
  4. Brighton Road to Mighty Grynner Highway

All motorists are asked to exercise caution and to comply with any order given by a member of the Barbados Police Service in uniform.

Any person who disobeys these rules or fails to comply with any order given by a member of the Barbados Police Service in uniform is guilty of an offence and is liable on summary conviction to a fine of $500 or imprisonment for a period of three (3) months.
