Training for coconut vendors will continue over the next few weeks, as part of efforts to improve their operations and build a robust coconut industry.
Workshops are scheduled for May 14, 16, and 22 and June 14, 16, and 22. All sessions will run from 9:00 a.m. until noon, in the conference room at the Ministry of Agriculture, Food, Fisheries and Water Resource Management, Graeme Hall, Christ Church.
The workshops are being held by the Ministry, in association with the Caribbean Agricultural Research and Development Institute (CARDI) and the Barbados Society of Technologists in Agriculture (BSTA), under the auspices of the National Coconut Stakeholder Platform.
The objectives are to educate coconut vendors about the importance of ensuring coconut water quality; introduce them to various technological mechanisms that can be used to improve their operations; and to aid them in developing their businesses.
